The St. Louise de Marillac School Forensics Team is available to 6th, 7th. and 8th grade students. Forensics is a public speaking activity in which the students compete interscholastically with Catholic, private and public schools in the Southwestern Pennsylvania State Forensics League. A typical season includes three regular tournaments held on Saturdays in November, December and January. The season concludes in February/March with the Finals Tournament.
Students may choose to compete in one of the following categories: poetry, prose, drama, declamation, impromptu, extemporaneous speaking, and multiple reading.
The Forensics Team is very proud of its most recent success during the 2010-2011 season in which the team was “crowned” the Southwestern Pennsylvania Forensics Champions defeating 19 private and public schools from the Southwestern Pennsylvania region at the FINALS tournament held at Canevin High School in February.
