St. Louise de Marillac Catholic School is dedicated to excellence in education through the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of each child within the framework of the Gospel and the tradition of the Catholic Church. We strive to instill in our students a lifelong commitment to learning, to Christian values, and to community service.
St. Louise de Marillac provides a Catholic educational setting where students and their families integrate gospel values to live their faith consciously and actively. In order to maximize the student’s full potential and ensure his or her success in life, we provide for the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social development for each child.
St. Louise de Marillac is the preferred Catholic educational community where families work together with faculty to grow young people with a solid faith-based foundation and the integrity of future Christian leaders prepared to succeed in life.
In May 1961, the Bishop (and later Cardinal) John Wright announced the formation of a new parish to be located in the South Hills. It was established on May 25, 1961 and, reflecting a devotion Bishop Wright had to French saints, it would be named “St. Louise de Marillac.” Six days after the new parish was formed, Bishop Wright appointed its first pastor, Father John H. Schonhardt.
